Disappointed Thursday! :'(

After he tell's me that the Bitch is getting out from school on the 26th, aw, mood changed. Errr! 'Coz most probably he will take charges to the department. :( If that happens that he will replace her, that would be a big slap for me. Me is super excited to my natal trip to Bantayan already. :( Me is super sad and bothered.

I know I'm not good at any confrontations. I hate it when he is angry. He throws everything what ever he gets. I hate that part. And that makes me scared to death. :( I don't like staying in that situations, that every time that will happen, me getting scared is noo good! :(

Balamban Liempo. :)

Have you tasted Balamban Liempo? I already did, and last June 24, 2010 was the first time my palettes were able to taste this food.

I was curious already of how delicious this is. I heard a lot of rumors from friends that if you want to best of tasty liempo, one should have Balamban Liempo over the other that has grown branches in several parts of Cebu City. I did tasted the other liempo, and my appetite for it really made me eat more. So finally after mass, my boyfriend and I went to Lahug to visit Balamban Liempo and bought one order. We hurried back home to have lunch as we were already so hungry.

So the first bite was critical. And what an amazement! The taste really was awesome! As of this writing, the thought of Balamban Liempo makes my mouth watering…whew! The rice serving which was supposed to be good for six people was consumed by just us two.
The price is 165.00 php… I recommend you do try Balamban Liempo. You won’t get dissatisfied…c”,)

Cake Walkers is ♥

It was last June 23, 2010 that I happened to drop by at Cake walkers café shop, chilling out after doing one of my so-called small business. As I entered the shop, a cake so dark and big in slice caught my attention. I went near to it, and my eyes are glued to it. My taste buds want to have a taste of it, so I asked for what’s the name and the price….
The name is Dark Chocolate. A slice costs 85 PhP. It was worth a try. So my boyfriend bought the dark chocolate, and together we ate. The aroma of the sweet choco was really evident, that it came from really a delicious chocolaty, and well, the cake was really tasty. Though I was craving for a taste that could make it quite unique with other dark chocolate cakes I’ve tasted before, there was none. But I am satisfied with the taste and the price.

Cakewalkers is selling lots of coffee blends and cakes. The place is great, that much people are hanging around. It’s great for those who are doing their review or students doing study.
The place is at Capitol Site, beside Avon, in front of the boulevard.

oh my Da Vinci! =)

Cebuanos are into the Pizza Mania! Almost every corner of Metro Cebu we find one pizza parlor. Gone are the days where this were monopolized by Shakey's, Pizzahut and Greenwich. Mind you, these new pizza restaurants do have their specialty taste, and is what most pizza crazy cebuanos love to order and eat.

I have always been a fan of pizza. There's this pizza restaurant though that I seem to wonder why I can't get satisfied with their specialties. I'm sorry for those who love this one, but I mean its Da Vinci's Pizza.

I have already raised interest before as to how delectable, satisfying, and making you want for more taste Da Vinci's have, based from the popular positive feedbacks of my friends. Curios as I am, I want to have a bite of one of their specialties. As what I've said, I'm a pizza addict. I've been to Da Vinci's several times. Yet, the results are always the same. I always have stomach problems every time I get to eat any of their pizza. I'm not kidding. I am even wondering. It seems I am the only one having this kind of result, and most pizza addict enjoy munching theirs!

This is not to downgrade Da Vinci's popularity. Maybe they just have some ingredients that brings problems to my stomach. Maybe it's the white sauce.

I enjoy their bottomless Iced Tea!!! =)

a garden inside a mall. =)

April 15, 2010. A payday.

My hubby always has the habit to have lunch or dinner on restaurants we have not tried yet on a payday. This day was no exception.

We went to SM to have lunch there. There's a lot of nice restaurants that we haven't been to yet, so for this day, we decided to take Lai Garden Tea House.

From its name itself, one can conclude that it's definitely a Chinese restaurant. Their menu was displayed before you enter their premise. We chose the food first what to order. The cheap price was the attraction factor for us to really try it out. Then we went inside.

We decided to have our table near their glass window, so we could have a clear view of the SM parking lot just outside of the North Wing. So we enumerated the model of cars that passed as we waited for our lunch.

They serve fast. I think that was less than 15 minutes. From my experience, Chinese food are always served hot. We have Nido soup(I'm not sure what it is, but I assumed its sort of bird's nest similarities), plain siomai and sweet back ribs with a little milk.

I'd say the food was just ok. There's not that much of an extraordinary taste. Still, I was satisfied with my lunch.

If you want to try Lai Garden Tea House, its at SM northwing. Its just beside Chikaan SM Northwing and Bigby's SM Northwing.

a lemon with grass. =)

Have you ever been to any restaurant where you don't know what to order, not because its expensive or you don't like the presentation, but because the names of the dishes aren't familiar to you? I'm definitely a victim of such scenario.

Usual Sunday routine(Easter Sunday to be exact) was to dine out in a nice restaurant after receiving  Sunday mass at Sacred Heart Parish. We decided this time to have lunch at Lemon Grass Ayala. It's definitely was my first time at that time. I've heard stories of some saying their very much satisfied with the Vietnamese and Thai cuisines that they serve. I was excited. =)

As we were seated, we were then handed with their menu. To my astonishment, I did not recognize any dish on the menu. I don't know what to do. Oh well, good thing there was brief descriptions of the food they are serving. So I just based what to order on the descriptions, and compare it to any of my favorite food. It took me a couple minutes to decide.
The food was served quick. I think that was just 15 minutes from the time that we ordered.

The food was really great. Basing from what we ordered, I concluded that their dishes are truly unique, and delicious. I had a big lunch at that time. I'm sure their dishes would satisfy my discriminating taste. I would love to come back and have lunch again.

Oh, there's some hitch though. I can't remember the name of the other food we ordered. The other one was Pad Thai. Also, I suggest not to try the Thai Iced Tea. I did out of curiosity, but I regret having one as a drink. I almost vomit from it.

pizza pedrico's anyone? :)

Have you heard about Pizza Pedrico's?

I first saw their food stand at Elizabeth Mall. I never gave any interest in it. Reason? I've always been a fan of the Alberto's Pizza, very affordable and very satisfying. For me, Alberto's Pizza is the best pizza when we talk the affordable ones yet equals the taste to that of the much publicized Pizza shops.

It came to a point that I am now curios of its taste, as I've seen many are lining up to their food stand to order the pizza, while some are already eating with satisfaction on the chairs and tables provided for dine-in customers.

It was last March 31, 2010 that I've finally got a chance to answer my curiosity. I ordered a solo pizza costing just Php 39.00. I assume that their solo pizza has a diameter of 6 inches. Am not quite sure though. Anyway, the size of the pizza was just enough for me at that time because I just want to have a bite to contend with my slight hunger and lunch is also just around the bend. To my amazement, I love their pizza! I even ordered another!

Pizza Pedrico's offers a product no other pizza parlors are doing, the 4 pizzas in a box.
I recommend you try Pizza Pedrico's. It's very affordable. Thumbs up for this!

ohhhh Rai Rai ken!!!!!!

I haven't tried any Japanese restaurant before. If any would invite me to dine there, I'd gladly accept the invitation.

Two days before holy Thursday, my hubby told me he wants to eat something tasty and oriental. He was so into it that wherever we go that day, he always mention about having to dine some place that fits his palate for the day.

When we arrived at Robinson's Fuente, his eyes were fixed to Rai Rai Ken. Without any doubt, he decided we take our dinner there. We ordered chicken bento and 3-in-1 bento. It may be my first time, and I may have no comparisons yet with any Japanese restaurants, I'd say the Japanese dish really fits my taste. I love Asian dishes.

I love their tempura! Finally, I've tasted one that is not from the streets. This is much tasty, compared to the cheaper ingredients of the street tempura. I'm out of words here. But definitely I'd say, the food was worth the price. Love to come back here again. And order other dishes from their menu. ^_^

A LUNCH AT GERRYS GRILL! ^^

I went to Carmelite Parish Church at Mabolo to light candles with prayers thanking the Lord for the blessings that He has given me the past years, and praying for more blessings as I have another year added to my wonderful life. It was 11:30 AM when I arrived there, and naturally, my ever hungry stomach is asking for food again. haha!

My hubby's birthday gift is spending the entire day with me. This includes having lunch with him. We went to Ayala Center Cebu and upon arriving we brainstormed where to have our lunch. By coincidence, we uttered Gerry's Grill. And you guessed right, we decided to have our lunch at that restaurant. With not much time to waste as we were both hungry, we decided to have Blue Marlin Steak, Nido Soup and Baked Scallops.

The Blue Marlin Steak was just average to my taste. It was not that much tasty. I would not recommend it. For a price at PhP 325.00, you might as well spend it on other dishes on their menu, like their sizzling sisig.
The Nido Soup was also not that much of awesome taste. But it was enough though as I was looking for just a small amount of hot soup. It's only PhP 65.00, good for one serving. If you don't feel like ordering soup dishes that serve 4 to 5 persons because its only for you, I recommend Nido Soup. Good thing they have Baked Scallops! It was much tastier than the earlier blog I gave. It's got more butter and cheese. And its even much more sweeter. I'd say for this, I'm ten thumbs up. It cost's only PhP 175.00.

I have a secret to tell! haha! I keep 1 shell in my bag. haha! A sort of memorabilia on my birthday! ^___^

Visit and Dine at Gerry's Grill. I recommend their other dishes, like Sizzling Sisig and Sizzling Tuna Sisig. They have branches at Ayala Cebu and SM Cebu.

Enjoy!!!!

To STK we go!

Like any Sunday, me and my hubby would attend 11:00 Am mass at Sacred Heart Parish. And like any given Sunday, we would always have lunch at any restaurant that would best fit for our appetite is looking for that day.

Last Palm Sunday, we decided to have to dine at STK Ta Bay! Seafood Restaurant. It's been a long time since we had lunch or dinner there. As we arrived, we have to wait for several minutes to be seated as many where having the same idea as ours. Luckily, waiting time was just 30 minutes.

As we were so hungry already, we ordered from their menu that best fits what we want for today. We decided to have Baked Scallops, Sizzling Gambas, Lechon Kawali and Calamares.

It was here that I had my first taste of Baked Scallops. The melted butter was just cheesy and very much enough for my delectable taste. Servings are at Php 80.00, PhP 100.00 and Php 110.00, depending how much you can eat. As for me I'd go for the serving with the most scallops. And even order another. Truly tasty, I fully recommend this recipe from them.

The Sizzling Gambas is another on their menu that goes with top priority when I'm dining there. Sizzling hot, with fresh egg cooked over the hot plate and of course, the shrimps, whew! Really love the taste. It brings up my appetite. With spices like tomato as among its recipe, truly hot and spicy. Price is cheap, at p120.

The Lechon Kawali was not that tasty, but I know its ok for some. I have such high standard of taste for this dish. It costs PhP 110.00

My ultimate paborito among all seafoods, Calamares! Really love their serving. One order is not enough for me. The price is DOS (depends on size).

STK Ta Bay! Offers a lot of native and seafood on their menu. They have the Tuna Belly, Tuna Panga, Pochero, among their most popular dishes. Everything is cheap and affordable. And very satisfying taste. I'm sure you'd come back for more.

STK Ta Bay sa Paolito's Seafood House is located at 6 Orchid St. Capitol Site, Cebu City with contact #'s 256-2700 / 253-4732.

Visit and dine there. Highly Recommended.

enjoy!!!!

a BIG burger!!!!

Eating burgers is my first choice when wanting to have a snack just because of sudden hunger. Most especially when I'm wasting my time at the malls.

One afternoon I spent my afternoon at Ayala Cebu just window shopping, and spending quality time with my hubby. We have visited a lot of shops already when both of us got hungry. Most fast-foods are filled with people as that time is usually snack time. He then asked me if I have tried Flame It Burger. He said the burger there is cooked like the way you see in American movies making burgers in there backyard. And more to it, he said its very delicious and full of meat, and can really satisfy your hunger. So I agreed to give myself a try of what's really in it.

I tried their Flame It Burger. We waited for about 10 minutes after ordering. And Behold! It was big, compared to normal burgers. And it really is delicious! I ate up my burger very fast, that my hubby was shocked I was able to finish first than him.

For their cheapest burger at P78.00, its worth the price. Try it. Its at the fourth floor of Ayala Mall, near Fitness First. Have a chance to dine there, and I'm sure, you'll be coming back for more .

Celebrating yummy's treat of dinner for two. :)

March 17, 2010... It was a date to be remembered for my very personal life. Two days before I was informed that I won Yummy Cebu's Street Food Challenge. I never expected I would win it, as my main goal was just to have fun, and show to everyone what are real examples of street foods. I was surprised that I got it, and with it, is a very memorable prize. A dinner for two at Mooon Cafe Cybergate.

I have always loved the food from Mooon Cafe. I love the chimichinga. This burrito, made up of ingredients like cheese, ground beef and salsa, really is a perfect appetizer for my taste. Of course, my usual main dish, the Mooon Steak, is really perfect to make my stomach satisfied. I have dined several times with their branches at Guadalupe, Ayala Terraces and IT Park. This branch in Robinsons Cybergate is my first.

This dinner for two gave me the chance to have a taste one of their famous dish, the Mexican Baby Back. And as expected, the restaurant never fails to satisfy me with their dishes. I love the food. I am definitely adding it to my database of favorite food.

Dessert completed the perfect dinner. The tasty and chocolaty Magic Cake. Sweet. Just a perfect conclusion for a very sumptuous dinner.

If anyone asks me where to dine that is right in price, very satisfying in taste, and would want one to come back again to dine, I definitely recommend to come to Mooon Cafe. You'll get your money's worth. ^_____^

Sinugbang Isda.

Most filipinos love to have food cooked from heated charcoal...We have barbecueas the most popular. Next in line is the sinugba.

I love to eat sinugbang isda atTaboan.  They sell this at a very affordable price.  The price may differ though, depending on the abundance.  Their fish are fresh, as they are bought from the very popular fish landing at Pasil, very near to Taboan.
The first time I ate their, I was amazed by the number of people who patronize their sinugbang isda.  Some would buy for take-out, and some would love to eat their.  I am one of those who love eat at their place.  Mind you, a lot of people do the same as mine, they intend to at their selling area.  All walks of life buy from what they are selling.  Even different professions.
Sinugba, with patis and lemonsito, plus maanghang na sili....whew!!!! with rice or puso, plus steamng free soup from shells......you've got to think of coming back again.....c",)

price range is from PhP 30 - 45....You're money is definitely worth it....c",)

Siomai sa Tisa! Nom Nom Nom!

Very popular food! You can see this in almost all places ofCebu.....But for me, I always go to where it all started....And yes you're right, definitely in Tisa.

I could still remember the days when the place was still called as Way Tugpahay, popular for their tasty puto and sikwti, on early hours of the morning...Now the place is dominated by siomai food vendors.

Siomai sa Tisa never gets out of customers.  You barely can have a chance to have seat during evenings until early morning.  A lot of avid siomai lovers come to eat, despite being from far places.

The Steaming Siomai is so tasty......with a very hot sauce.....and lemon....nom nom nom!!! 3 siomais is the basic, but most would love to add more.  Truly an addicting taste...c",)

Php 7.00.......and definitely worth the price.

Quick let's eat kwik-kwik!

This very special one of mine told me that I should eat kwik-kwik. I said huh?! what's that? kwik-kwik, a street food made up of quail egg coated with flour and food coloring, deep fried into a hot boiling oil, cooked in moving food carts.....and I said AAAhhh okay....

He insisted I should really eat it.  He told me that I  already go for street food, so why not give it a try. So I  decided to have a bit or two.

I went somewhere to find kwik kwik for sale.  I've found one, near Cebu Eastern College.  There are a lot of street food lining up the area, but I am more interested for the kwik kwik.....c",)

The price is very affordable, at a price of P3.00 each.  I thought trying one, or two, but I bought instead 3.  Wow! It was delectably yummy!!! mixed with hot sauce!  Alright! I added three more, not thinking of the high cholesterol.  Like they said, eat and drink for tomorrow we will be sick.

He was RIGHT!!! It was indeed tasty! I'm adding up the new street food to my database of favorites. NOM NOM NOM!!!!

No wonder a lot of CEC students hurry up from dismissal and grab a bite of kwik kwik.  The taste is totally awesome!!!

Water + Melon = Watermelon!

Perfect Algebraic Equation? I guess it is! But its more perfect for summer! Just the right fruit for the hot days!

Its not hard to find.  Its available in every sidewalk.  It is this time of the year where watermelons are very abundant.

The sweet, juicy, watery taste, matched with perfect coolness, quenches your thirst.

Price: P10.00.... just enough for anyone who has little budget and in need to deplete thrist deprivement..... Compared to buying from popular fruit shakes and stands.......c",)

Fact:

All Red Fruits and Vegetables contains lycopene which is good for the heart!!!! oh yeah!!!

SFC stands for Street Fried Chicken!

From Chong Hua hospital, I brainstormed which road to take on my way to Robinson's.  I finally decided that I take the road where the former fruit stand was once situated.  It is now occupied by Robinson's cybergate.  As I was moving towards the busy road, a unique sight caught my attention.

I never though selling fried chicken could be done on the streets.  What's more interesting, they even mix and cook the chicken on the spot.  The smell of the newly cooked chicken made my stomach grumble.

You guessed right, I ended up buying one of it.  To be honest, it was just out of curiosity.  I tasted it though, for just a bite, and what a surprise! I ended up gobbling everything....hehehe......It was tasty.....and crispy........and yummy.......

Wished I had bought more.  I was too far from that place already when I ate up everything.  Maybe when I'm near that place again, I'll find that food vendor and buy more....and share it to my friends..............c",)

Price: P15.00.....for drumstick, breast, wings, legs.....c",)

Sidewalk buko juice!

The day is soooo hot!!!  I definitely can feel the scorching heat of the sun. Summer breeze is just around the bend.  Need some very cool refreshments at a cheap price. As I was in dire need to find one while walking towards Chong Hua hospital, my prayer was answered.  I spotted a food cart selling buko juice and gulaman.

I go for buko juice.....I always crave for it during hot climates. It also makes me reminisce the feel of being in the province, drinking unlimited and very fresh buko juice.  When you're in the province, take note, it's for FREE.

The buko juice by the sidewalk was enough to satisfy my thirst.  It was able to replenish the sweats from my body.

Price: P5.00.  Very cheap, yet very satisfying.

Camote French Fries.

New name? It definitely is...What's more interesting......this product for sale is just around my neighbourhood....c",)

Students of St. Marys Academy and other schools nearby patronize this food as their "merienda", for 9 am break, desserts after lunch, 3 pm break, and barkada tripping after classes.

At first look, it's just like a typical camote cue.  What makes it distinct is that the camote is sliced to sizes similar to that of french fries.  It is coated with brown sugar and deep fried into a hot boiling oil.  It tastes like sweet, tender(nom n om nom) and a secret ingredient that makes you want for more.....c",)

The price? It's just very affordable for students and fodd trippers......c",)............It costs P5.00 only.......

Try it.  The specific location? Near St. Mary's Academy, C. Padilla Street.  If you can locate the historic San Nicolas Parish........then you're in the right place....

Enjoy the food!!!
